Why should you Visit Rome WITH KIDS?

Rome new

Organizing a trip is not easy, and there are a lot of things that have to be planned for – especially when you are travelling with children. You need to make a list with all pros and cons and, of course, you have to think about attractions and activities that will keep your children relaxed and ready to learn.

Italians treat family with great respect and appreciation. It is in their tradition to put family in first place and this is one of the reasons you and your children will feel welcomed there. So, do not panic if your kids are running or if they suddenly realize that they need a toilet in the middle of the city – you will find many people ready to help you.

Rome is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of the most famous and beautiful capitals, the third most visited city in Europe. So this should be enough reason already for a few days trip there. Many will say that visiting Rome is not a wise decision when travelling with kids, because it is a very crowded city, and is full of historical places and museums, which are not fun for the children. Also, the traffic there is a wild experience.

But I would say the opposite: the city has endless opportunities and attractions for all ages, but only if you are wise enough to plan itinerary and activities to satisfy both your perfectly understandable wish to see all the places Rome is famous for and your children’s need for fun.

The Eternal City is a perfect place to visit with children because it is…

A page of history

With archaeological evidence of human occupation of the area from approximately 14,000 years ago, Rome is one of the oldest cities in Europe. Its name has been related, over the years, with various government forms, great wars and expansions, spectacular victories. Every single page of this long and tumultuous history is “written” in Rome’s touristic attractions today. And they all worth seeing!

Unrivalled technology and engineering

This supported Roman’s expansion and civilization for almost a thousand years. The roads, aqueducts, bridges, public baths, temples, and amphitheaters were all built somewhere over 2,000 years ago and are, until this day, a proof of their craftsmanship.

Rome is a city that you and your family should visit because of the great cultural inheritance. Some of the most famous artists (Michelangelo, Bernini, Caravaggio, Raphael, and Brunelleschi – to mention just a few) put their print on Rome’s sculpture and painting. Although it is not children’s favourite to spend their time in art museums, the journey through Rome as we propose it in this guide will offer them an overview of these artists’ greatness in a friendly, attractive manner.

Center of Papacy

Another reason for a trip to Rome is its tremendous religious role in Christianity. Visit the Holy See, the residence of the Pope, as well as the Vatican – which is the smallest sovereign state in the world, en enclave in Rome city.

And last but not least, take the children on a trip in Rome because of the bohemian atmosphere of the squares and streets, the life-full attitude of its inhabitants, and its great food.
